Issam Dagher finished his BS (1992) and MS (1994) in Electrical
Engineering from Florida International University, Miami, Florida. He carried on with his research studies and obtained a Ph.D. in 1997 from the University of Central Florida,
Orlando USA. He was appointed Assistant Professor of Computer Engineering in 1998 at the University of Balamand. He was subsequently promoted to Associate Professor in 2007. He has extensive research work in pattern recognition, neural
networks, artificial intelligence, and computer vision. He published over 45 peer-reviewed articles in leading journals on these topics. He has a long teaching experience in undergraduate and
graduate electrical and computer engineering courses. In 2019, Dr. Dagher was appointed Chairperson of the Department of Computer Engineering.
